How to Obtain the ECROS Operating System

ECROS is available for limited-time, no-cost evaluation as an object code library.  You can also purchase a license to use ECROS in this object code form.  Object licenses are sold per-MCU, just like operating systems for PCs, so you must buy as many licenses as MCUs on which you intend to use ECROS.  Commercial users may prefer to purchase a source code license.  This allows the use of ECROS on an unlimited number of MCUs but only for a single product.  If you wish to use ECROS on a number of products, you must buy additional licenses.  The following sections give more details

Limited-time, No-cost Evaluation Packages

ECROS evaluation packages are available for various hardware platforms.  The package includes the ECROS object library, the header file Ecros.h and a demonstration consisting of one or more source files and a ZDS II project to build the application.  These are password protected in a ZIP file.  Also in the ZIP file but unprotected is a document specifying the terms of the evaluation license.  If you agree to these terms, contact ECROS Technology for the password and an actual license.  After you receive the license, you have 30 days to complete the evaluation.  At the end of this time, you must purchase a license for each MCU on which you will continue to use ECROS.

Object Code Licenses

An object code license allows you to use ECROS in a personal or commercial project.  ECROS Technology performs configuration according to your specification at the time of purchase.

A $5.00 processing fee is added to all orders and appears as a shipping charge.  Support for object licenses is limited to the correction of any defects.

Source Code Licenses

You can purchase a source code license for ECROS.  This allows you to use ECROS in any number of projects, perform configuration as needed and make any changes that are outside the scope of the standard configuration options.
