Possible New Production Run of Prius Mini-ScannerA Prius enthusiast, Don Wagler, has suggested that 50 eager buyers of the Prius Mini-Scanner can be found who will put down a deposit of $100 to fund a new production run. Advanced Notice of Price IncreasesFor the first time ever, ECROS Technology will be increasing the prices of some products to reflect increases in parts costs. Although pure electronic component prices remain stable, the higher cost of metals is affecting the prices of parts such as connectors, switches, etc. The products that have been hardest hit are those containing 0.1 inch headers. Less expensive headers than those used by ECROS Technology are available. However, evaluations have shown that the material that secures the header pins is less sturdy and can soften during soldering. It has been decided to increase prices rather than substitute lower quality headers. In some parts kits, component changes have allowed the price increase to be reduced or avoided. |

Dragon Rider 500
The Atmel AVR Dragon is a low-cost programmer for the entire line of
AVR microcontrollers and provides on-chip debugging for those with
32 kbytes or less of program memory. However, it has no space
for a target system and so falls short of the function of the venerable
STK500.
Enter the Dragon Rider! The ECROS Technology Dragon Rider fits over the AVR Dragon and provides target sockets for 40-, 28-, 20- and 8-pin microcontrollers, standard Atmel 10-pin port headers, add-on LEDs, switches, an LCD, serial interface and an external power supply. Programming connections are made with header shunts, not jumper wires, and the board is quickly reconfigurable for different target types. |
