Toyota Prius
Mini-Scanner

Released Firmware

From this page you can download new releases of firmware for your Prius Mini-Scanner.  Be sure to select the version appropriate to the Mark I or Mark II Mini-Scanner, according to which you own.  Firmware will not work on the wrong platform, although loading and running it will do no damage.

To download the firmware to your computer, use your browser's ability to save the file to which the link points.  For example, in Internet Explorer, right-click on the link and select Save Target As... from the pop-up menu.  Download the ZIP file if you have the ability to extract (un-ZIP) the firmware file from it.  Otherwise, download the firmware in the Intel Hex format.

To replace the Prius Mini-Scanner firmware, refer to the instructions in the User Manual.  You can always go back to any previous version if there is something about a new version you don't like.  Click on the version number in the tables to see any release notes for that firmware version.  Click on the status for an explanation of the terms used.

Status

Experimental

Experimental versions generally offer new features or correct problems but may be less well tested than Recommended versions.  After some time in the field, the status of the version may be changed to Recommended.  If you use an Experimental version and experience a problem, please report it.  You can always revert to your previous firmware version.

Recommended

A Recommended version is stable, well tested and any problems reported are documented in the release notes.  If the version has the feature set you need and there are no problems getting in your way, this is the version you should use.

Not Recommended

A version that is Not Recommended has been discovered to have problems that are very likely to hinder proper operation.  It is available for the sake of completeness, but you should not use such a version unless you have very peculiar reasons.

Archived

An Archived version is available for use but typically has fewer features and no benefits as compared to later versions.  Support is not available for Archived versions and if you experience problems you will be asked to upgrade to a Recommended version.
