Turning a Wood Bowl, Part 3 - Shaping the Inside of the Bowl

Shaping the Inside of the Bowl

  1. Unscrew the workpiece from the worm screw and remove the worm screw from the chuck.
  1. Mount the blank on the chuck by expanding the jaws into the mortise (video 2).


  1. If necessary, true up the outside of the bowl (video 1, 8.56).



  1. Hollow out the inside of the bowl using push cuts (video 1, 9:44).




  1. Optionally, clean up the walls using a pull cut (video 1, 12:48).
